Mary Turner, eight months pregnant, without a husband and father for her child, grieving for the lynching of her husband, made it clear that she would get justice. This past month the Emmett Till Anti-Lynching Act 2022 was passed on March 7, 2022. Though Emmett has still received no justice for the crime committed against him in 1955, this year marks the year the Senate made a unanimous decision to make a lynching a hate a hate crime.
