Psalm 121 is an amazing reminder of how God is an active part of our lives and never leaves us. When we face difficulty and challenge, we need to be reminding ourselves of His presence, goodness, and faithfulness. I will be sharing my story and weaving it through the text to illustrate that our help truly comes from the Lord.

God has given us the original design for not only what our family should look like, but what our lives should look like.

In this Psalm, David calls the people to remember how God rescued them from certain doom. Recognizing how close they were to their end and how definitive the deliverance causes the people to praise and worship God.

Psalm 134 paints a beautiful picture of a life identified with Christ and in a relationship of gratitude to God.

Unity among the people of God is a gift from God (Psalm 133) which bears testimony to the world around us (John 17:23). As followers of Jesus, we are instructed to do all that we can 'to preserve the unity of the Spirit, through the bond of peace'. (Ephesians 4:3)

As Jesus ends his most well-known teaching, he paint a vivid picture of the different sorts of foundations we can build with our lives. No person is exempt from experiencing the storms of life, but there are those who live secure even when the rains come and the flood waters rise. The obvious warning in Jesus’ conclusion is the incredibly serious gravity of our choice about him.

Jesus teaches that there really are only two options in life (following Jesus or rejecting him), but he immediately clarifies that in the real world people aren’t neatly divided into two organized groups. Instead, the visible church includes both true and false Christian leaders and true and false followers of Jesus. Following Jesus on the narrow way requires discernment, and Jesus gives us the keys to discern effectively.

Applying the Sermon on the mount is compared by Jesus to a narrow, hard road, but choosing to walk this road by following the way of Jesus is worth the effort.
