Following Jesus requires hearing Jesus. Is this even possible? And if so, how do we hear Jesus speak?
And this is the way to have eternal life—to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth. –Jn 17:3 (NLT)I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. –Jn 15:15 (NLT)“I tell you the truth, anyone who sneaks over the wall of a sheepfold, rather than going through the gate, must surely be a thief and a robber! --Jn 10 (NLT)But the one who enters through the gate is the shepherd of the sheep. --Jn 10 (NLT)The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep recognize his voice and come to him. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. --Jn 10 (NLT)After he has gathered his own flock, he walks ahead of them, and they follow him because they know his voice... --Jn 10 (NLT)But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger’s voice.” --Jn 10 (NLT)The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep recognize his voice and come to him. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. --Jn 10 (NLT)After he has gathered his own flock, he walks ahead of them, and they follow him because
they know his voice... --Jn 10 (NLT)The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a
rich and satisfying life. --Jn 10 (NLT)My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. Jesus says it differently elsewhere. –Jn 10:27 (NLT)...blessed are all who hear the word of God and obey it.” –Lk 11:28 (NIV)Those who accept my commandments and obey them are the ones who love me. And because they love me, my Father will love them. And I will love them and reveal myself to each of them.” –Jn 14:21 (NLT)“Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends. –Rev 3:20 (NLT)AvalonChurch.org/HearingGod
