In this episode, Laura Strangeway, Head of Food Systems Transition at Compassion in World Farming Food Business, revisits the recent UN Food Systems Summit stock take, jointly hosted by the governments of Ethiopia and Italy. 

Bringing together over 3500 participants in Addis Ababa, the aim of the summit was to assess progress and renew commitments to Food Systems Transformation.

Compassion’s CEO, Philip Lymbery, who attended the event in his capacity as a member of the UN Food Systems Advisory Group tells her why the stocktake is so important.

Laura Strangeway, Head of Food Systems Transition at Compassion in World Farming Food Business explores the impact industrial animal agriculture has on the Sustainable Development Goals with Peter Stevenson, OBE, the charity’s Chief Policy Advisor.

When they were adopted back in 2015, the 2030 UN Sustainable Development Goals marked a crucial milestone in global efforts towards achieving sustainable development and a roadmap or focus for businesses, governments and civil society. But with just five years left, the world is still well off track. Peter explains why progress towards achieving the 2030 UN SDGs is so slow, and what can be done to accelerate progress.
