Football: A Podcast

Welcome to Football: A Podcast.

News Flash: We have a website -- footballapodcast.com. We post the long-form analysis that we can't fit into our episodes on The Post Show page.

In this episode we respond to listener feedback for the first time after there were qualms with our Atlanta Falcons coverage during the NFC South Division Preview. Please don't hesitate to talk with us on social media; we love the engagement!

We agree in our AFC West preview that it's the Chiefs then every other team battling in 9-8 hell. That being said, Zack almost completes a 180° on his views of the Broncos roster and is damn near bullish on them in 2021. Matt makes a great case for Andy Reid being the biggest problem with Kansas City last year.

Welcome to Football: A Podcast.

We cruise through our evaluations of the Jaguars and Texans, as they don't pose a legitimate threat to win more than six games combined.

Once we put the division's children to bed, we turn our attention to the adults -- the Colts and Titans. Matt and Zack are all about the Colts' deep roster while Bill combines Carson Wentz skepticism and the TItans' offense to project a division win for Tennessee.

Welcome to Football: A Podcast.

We tease all you NFC East psychopaths by discussing recent news around the league before we get to evaluating "Division Overhype." It's never as good or as bad as these fanbases make it out be.

We are unanimous in selecting our division winner and quite shocked to learn we run counter to some of sports media. There's one roster that clearly stands alone as the best; the rest is a mess.

Welcome to Football: A Podcast.

Your hopes and prayers have been answered. Here's your second episode this week.

We delve into the AFC East and determine that this division is a two-horse race with the general public seriously doubting the New England Patriots. It kills each of us to say that.

We also discuss the future of the quarterback position in Miami and how the full rebuild is going in New York.

Most importantly, however, we debate our favorites for which players will get the "Best Shape of his Life" puff pieces written about them as training camps near.

Welcome to Football: A Podcast.

We're back after a two-week hiatus with our knives sharpened and pointed at the NFC West.

All three of us think this division is one of the best in the NFL. However, that doesn't keep Matt and Zack from being highly critical of all four teams. Bill, ever the optimist, thinks everyone but the Seahawks can build on last year's successes.

We discuss our opinions of the Julio Jones trade to start the episode and even find time to work in a few jabs at Aaron Rodgers, a favorite past time of the show.

Welcome to Football: A Podcast.

In the intro Zack pops his mic loud enough to make your ears bleed. If you can still hear afterward, listen to us settle in for season previews of the Bengals, Browns, Ravens and Steelers.

You like the AFC North this year? Yeah, well, we aren't as optimistic. Each team in the division has significant question marks on its roster. Matt called the Browns "paper tigers," but you could apply the term to each team in the AFC North.

We analyze the teams in reverse order of 2020 finish -- Bengals, Browns, Ravens then Steelers.

Welcome to Football: A Podcast!

Colt Brennan was one of college football's most prolific passers and we give his career the reflection it deserves. Wish we could've had him on to share stories about his days slingin' it at Hawaii.

Bill and Zack then proceed to disagree on who has the leverage in the Aaron Rodgers crises, as well as how the Tim Tebow signing impacts the Jacksonville locker room.

And yet we still find time to discuss the schedule release and sleepers from rounds 3-7 of the NFL Draft.

Welcome to Football: A Podcast!

Our official first-round draft grades are in. We use the proprietary Bill Lucas Draft Rubric™ to provide the most in-depth post-draft rankings you'll find on the internet. We don't just throw out letter grades willy-nilly on our pod.

Our ratings on Alijah Vera-Tucker, Payton Turner, Jamin Davis and Caleb Farley may surprise.

We also give our inaugural Bill O'Briens to selections that made zero sense during the first round. We'll always remember you, BoB.

We didn't discuss nearly as many picks as we could've so we'll post everyone's grades on Twitter and Instagram. Engage with us!

Welcome to Football: A Podcast.

We learned quite a bit by watching all three days of the 2021 NFL Draft, including the fact that Kadarius Toney has no eyebrows. Let us know if you have more information on that, by the way.

We discuss Roger Goodell's stupid chair, Jayson Oweh's name changing midway through the first round, and how Najee Harris served Matt a large piece of humble pie.

We also dive deep on Aaron Rodgers, the 49ers' disaster of a draft process and the Bears climbing the board to grab Justin Fields. Lastly, we finish some sentences and preview Thursday's Draft Ranking Episode.
