Southampton 0-2 Preston | Post-Match Reaction. Preston North End ran out 2-0 winners, leaving the Saints 21st in the Championship. Lewis Dobbin opened the scoring in the first half with a scrappy finish, and Mads Frokjaer-Jensen sealed the win with a late strike in injury time.Saints struggled to create clear-cut chances. The closest they came was Caspar Jander hitting the crossbar in the 70th minute, while Leo Scienza impressed with his trickery and direct play, forcing a smart save from Daniel Iversen early on. Despite starting the second half with more urgency, Southampton never really threatened to get back into the game. The defeat sparked frustration among fans, who booed their side and chanted at the club’s owners. Southampton now have just two league wins this season alongside six draws and five defeats. Will Still’s side will need to regroup quickly as the Championship campaign continues.
