Easter is a big deal because it's all about Jesus—who He is, what He claimed, and what He accomplished through His life, death, and resurrection. If Jesus really rose from the dead, then His promises are true, sin is forgiven, death is defeated, and the hope of restoration and justice is real.

Even at the height of suffering and shame, Jesus revealed His power to save by offering mercy to a dying man who had nothing to offer but faith. In that moment, a criminal saw not defeat but a King—and entrusted his life to the only One who could save him.

Lament Psalms give us a way to express our pain and struggles, turning to God for help and trusting in His faithfulness. They allow us to bring our sorrow to Him while holding onto the hope that He cares for us.

People often gain reputations for their habits, whether punctuality or lateness, generosity or stinginess, patience or impatience, and we tend to define others by these traits as a way of understanding them. Now that Paul has introduced himself, he turns to the church in Rome and immediately acknowledges their reputation—a church known throughout the Roman world for its faith in Jesus Christ.
