Touching stories

Ellen Gray Massey loves the Ozarks and it comes through in every word of this memoir. In every word of each essay, each story. She knows the mindset, the landscape, and the spirit of Ozarkians, not the silly hillbilly stuff that is sometimes promoted, but the freedom-loving, self-sufficient, confident people who live in the area, and she knows their joys and their sorrows. A must read.
