We lay down our lives FOR others because Jesus laid down his FOR us. We ought to be the best at it. We know what it looks like. We know what it feels like to be on the other side of Jesus’ life-laying-down kind of love. It’s the least we can do. I could never repay Jesus for laying down his life for me… ever. But I can do what he asked me to do. I can love others as he loved me. I can lay down my life FOR others the way he laid down his life FOR me.
