S2E43 - For the Glory KC is back with the 50th episode of the show!

On this week's episode, Sporting Kansas City come back down to earth. After two straight wins at home, they hit the road against a depleted Inter Miami team and slip up dropping all three points. We talk through the key moments, the "controversial" game winning goal and a whole lot more. We also take some of your listener questions and sprinkle them throughout the episode.

Beyond just the game, we get into the controversy surrounding Gadi Kinda, the Israeli National Team and Peter Vermes. We also talk about the impending contract end for Kinda and if this will have any impact on him re-signing with the team.

The KC Current may have finally done it and given us nothing to care about until the offseason. They had a chance to get a trophy in the first and last 'real' NWSL Challenge Cup, but they gave it away at the end against the North Carolina Courage (the eventual champions against Racing Louisville). The season isn't technically over, but it basically is. 

Then of course we discuss news in the Digital Crawl, which includes some good news from the Spanish National Team, controversy in MLS around Bruce Arena suddenly resigning, the United States Men's National Team and more! (I used the word controversy three times...)

S2E42 - For the Glory KC is back with the 49th episode of the show!

I have never once cared about this silly Soccer Capital nonsense, but because it eats at St. Louis, much like Sporting Kansas City, I'm going to lean in hard when these games are played each time. We talk about Round Two in this budding rivalry, and Sporting KC's big win. The atmosphere was amazing (full credit to the road fans), the game was exciting, and the refereeing definitely happened. Peter Vermes said he thought Alan Chapman officiated the game well. We'll have to agree to disagree on that one Peter. I'll cite my sources.

It's not all SKC as the KC Current get some (negative) attention. Their season isn't officially over, but the loss against Angel City all but assures it is. There is still plenty to play for in this week's Challenge Cup semifinal and (hopefully) final. But after that, it's time to pick a permanent coach. We discuss.

S2E41 - For the Glory KC is back with the 48th episode of the show! (Creeping towards 50, should we do something special?)

Sporting Kansas City are back in action after a long break and things (mostly) went very well in a 3-0 win over then fifth place San Jose, minus a potential injury picked up by Johnny Russell (two updates on him, one early, one in the Digital Crawl).

This week's podcast was recorded in two "halves" (which is fitting because I guested on Episode 19 of another podcast, the Two Halves Soccer Podcast, this week if you want to go even deeper on Sporting KC). The first half, I continue For the Glory KC's nepotism tradition and bring on my little brother after he and I went to the SKC/San Jose Earthquakes game Saturday. On this week's episode, the KC Current headline with SKC taking yet another week off (against their will after being eliminated from the Leagues Cup). Sheena and I discuss the big win from Kansas City against the OL Reign at Children's Mercy Park. S2E39 - For the Glory KC is back with the 46th episode of the show and, finally, Sheena has returned to the podcast! We were overseas for two weeks and decided against another weird, "Chad only" episode and just delayed until we could both record.

On this week's episode, Sporting Kansas City get crushed and bounced out of the Leagues Cup by Toluca. We don't spend a ton of time on that, but instead focus on the "why" behind the elimination. It leads to an interesting conversation about youth soccer, squad rotation and not running guys into the ground.

Then, Sheena and I break down the rumored (massive) Alan Pulido contract and how we feel about the move.

We can't leave out our World Cup experience, the United States getting eliminated or the KC Current and their big win to advance in the NWSL Challenge Cup. There are some big questions about Vlatko Andonovski and if he'll end up as the coach of the Current after the dust settles.

Finally, we answer your mailbag questions! (We go a bit off the rails with our "nonsense" at the beginning since we had the vacation of our lives, timestamps below will let you skip if you are so inclined).

S2E38 - For the Glory KC is back with the 45th episode of the show and it's a weird one. No co-host, just me talking to myself. If that sounds like something you'd like to listen to, give it a go.

On this week's episode, Sporting Kansas City beat the best team in Mexico in the Leagues Cup (and were a 96th minute handball away from beating the best team in MLS). That said, how much of that was the schedule finally favoring Sporting KC for the first time in a long time? I definitely think it was a factor with the short rest for Chivas, which was compounded by their game against FC Cincinnati being delayed the better part of a day due to the weather.

But it's not all pessimism (I think it was a resounding performance overall). Plus, injury updates on Tim Melia, Willy Agada and Graham Zusi are forthcoming.

The ladies can't be left out though! The KC Current were back in action and their injury woes continue. They had a chance to almost lock down a spot in the semi-finals of the UKG Challenge Cup but instead give the Chicago Red Stars their first point of the whole tournament (here is that chart I referenced). Plus, the United States squeak their way out of the group stage, and I give a first-hand account of the action in Auckland, New Zealand.

S2E37 - For the Glory KC is back with the 44th episode of the show.

On this week's episode, Sporting Kansas City give us all a brief moment of hope before snatching it away from us. Sheena and I discuss the exciting Sporting KC versus FC Cincinnati game. If you were a neutral, perhaps a Liga MX/Chivas fan scouting these teams, would it have been obvious who was by far the best team in the league and who was on the outside of the playoffs looking in? Not for the first 15 minutes I'm sure, but then it got a little squirrely. We talk the Alan Pulido red card, the multitude of handballs and own goals, a little Khiry Shelton of course and what needs to happen next week.

Then, a special guest joins me to talk about the KC Current after months of begging to be on the podcast. You tell me how it went as we break down the Houston Dash game before transitioning to talk about new Brazilian center back Lauren joining the team after the 2023 Women's World Cup. Speaking of the World Cup, we work in a little USWNT talk and of course Messi makes an appearance or two.

On this week's episode, Sporting Kansas City continue their bad run of form for their three games in eight days when they managed only two points over three games. Sheena and I head through the week chronologically working through the Sporting KC/Real Salt Lake game, the halftime media game (I won!) and then finally to the loss against Austin FC on the weekend.

Not to be left out was the announcement that Inter Miami CF have finally signed Lionel Messi officially. His debut is set for Friday. We have some background information on the move and Sheena has some thoughts on the Messi overload.

S2E35 - For the Glory KC is back with the 42nd episode of the show.

On this week's episode, Sporting Kansas City drop two points late against the Houston Dynamo, then things get weird with the referee's end of game handling. We mostly focus on the game, but we can't ignore this nonsense from Sebastian Ferreira and Sagafi's mishandling of it.

The Kansas City Current's form falters as the injuries keep piling up. They are in a near desperate situation needing around 18 points over the next seven games (which is about 2.57 points per game). Basically, it's must win from here out. Even two draws will probably doom them.

Plus, a little USMNT and USWNT talk and an ode to Megan Rapinoe from Sheena.

On this week's episode, Sporting Kansas City bounce back in a big way with a 3-0 win over the Vancouver Whitecaps. Sheena and I discuss her boy Remi's lovely goal (after an even better assist), MLS referees failing to protect goalkeepers and how steep the climb remains, despite only being one point below the playoff line.

Beyond that, plenty of Sporting KC injury updates, locker room insights and takeaways from Jake Reid's town hall with season ticket members.

The Kansas City Current get some love as both they and Sporting KC won on the same day for only the second time in history. Not only do we discuss said wins, but also new KC Current signing Stine Ballisager Pederson (sorry for the butchered pronunciation).
