Here’s a little update on Jake’s past surgeries, his vagus nerve stimulator, and when he had a burst appendix. Also a little update on how he’s doing with the speech board! He’s getting there and he

When this podcast, I am showing some more changes we’ve made to the house over the years to deal with Jake’s OCD, which usually comes along with autism.

Here’s an update on the speech board for Jake. It takes a lot of repetition, but Jake is starting to understand a few of the characters on the board! He really likes The one
 that has the heart on itwhich
 says “I love you”, which is so sweet! He is also learning how to use” I want to go out.” we are also working on mommy and daddy which I recorded on the bottom of the board, as well as I want a snack, and I am thirsty. 

So far, he is really enjoying the board, even though he still needs my help to find the right words!

We bought a speech board for Jake. I think the board was a little overwhelming so I put duct tape on top of some of the phrases so he can see the ones he likes the best. He loves the one that says I want to go out so I made it very easy for him to see it. He’s been asking to push it, but just can’t find it so I have been helping him! He has also been carrying it around, so I know he likes it. Keep your fingers crossed! #Autism awareness

We started a new speech board for Jake. We have tried this many times before, but Jake seems to be more interested in trying it now. It may be a little too overwhelming for him, so we are ordering the board with maybe
 only 10 or 12 characters if interested, it is from Joyreal. You can find it on Amazon and it is very reasonably priced. Wish us luck and I will keep you updated on his progress! I am excited.!
 

Episode 28: Jackie’s a happy boy today. I went to Atlanta for my mom’s birthday party for four days and he missed going to Circle K. Big smiles, a happy boy!

The good is that Jakes frustrations were all
 internal. The bad is that Jake gets frustrated when susu is preparing her meal at a different time than normal. The ugly, if you have eyes in your head, is pretty obvious! 
But as soon as susu leaves the kitchen,
 Jake is happy again! It’s a battle, we try not to change our routines, but sometimes 
It’s unavoidable!

Gave a bath to Jake today. As I said before this is rated G. 😂 gotta watch out and make sure the water isn't too hot when you wash his hair or he can get a little panicked! But he does love his baths! #autism awareness
