Lana Sussman and Kirsty Levin co-founded The Parents Village in 2016, after they experienced a gap in perinatal support services when they had their own children. Lana and Kirsty are passionate about mental health and wellbeing and set up their private practice to support expectant and new parents through their pregnancy, birth, parenthood, relationships, and career journeys.
With Lana’s training in social work and arts psychotherapy, she works with clients to help them process birth trauma, as well as offering individual and couples counselling.
In parallel, Kirsty guides her clients through professional changes and challenges in her career counselling practice, and also delivers mental health and relationship focused prenatal education.
Together they are on a mission to make sure that all parents feel connected, understood and nurtured… because it takes a village to raise a parent.

Normally I have a guest on my podcast but today I decided to just jump on and talk about values.
We are nearing the end of 2021, the world has gone totally mad and crazy and it’s been pretty confusing and emotionally rollercoaster for the past couple of years.
When we go through such emotional turmoil be it pandemic or any life events it takes extra effort to keep the focus on our North Star. Many of us struggle with finding direction, making big decisions and even knowing how to act in day to day situations.
We all want to live a life of integrity in which our actions aligned with our personal values and beliefs.
So today I will talk about what values are and some practical questions how you can identify your core values.
You can access your core values sheet in the community www.fortheloveofmum.mn.co
Miranda is a teacher, parent consultant and mum coach. She has three kids of her own and an amazing husband-and she is a singer/songwriter in her spare time!
Miranda loves to see mums feel confident in themselves and their parenting with real, practical strategies available to help them react well to their child's behaviour and emotional moments-therefore helping their child learn how to do the same.
The Stop Reacting and Start Connecting event is all about helping mums with realising what their triggers may be, and some reasons why they may overreact when dealing with certain moments with their child. Miranda shares about the difference between reactions and responses, how to start actually 'watching' yourself as you react, and what is the first step on this hard but possible journey to actually choosing how you interact with your child.

EFT - emotional freedom technique - also known as tapping or psychological acupressure. is an alternative therapy for anxiety, stress, weight loss, additions, behavioural patterns or anything you would like to change in your life.
It involves tapping specific points on the body, primarily on the head and the face, in a particular sequence. While doing this, the person focuses on the issue that they wish to treat.
As with acupuncture and acupressure, tapping involves the body’s energy meridian points, which are a concept in Chinese medicine. These pathways help balance energy flow to maintain your health. Any imbalance can influence disease or sickness.
