Larry Berger joins Michael Rasile on For the Love of Sports to discuss his career in the sports video production game! Larry talks about his 15 (!) year career working for the NBA getting to interview athletes like Michael Jordan, working on the PR side of the business for a year with the NBA D-League, and now what he's working on over at USA Today.

Larry is a student of the game and is always looking to better himself and others. He now mentors elite amateur athletes on ways to grow their personal brands via proper interviewing techniques!

We also talk about the rigors of getting into the sports business, what it takes to get the job, and how mental health is an important piece of all of this.

Andrew Stephens joins Michael Rasile on For the Love of Sports to discuss his career in media and running a startup media company. Andrew first got started at the University of Georgia where he needed a way to cover the team he loved so much. He couldn't get in at the school newspaper, so he started covering the team on his own through a self-published blog.

This led to friends and friends of friends to start covering more teams in more places with their patented informational subjectivity, or passionate objectivity. After college, they needed a way to continue to pay the bills and give their communities something to enjoy.

Through this understanding (read: the necessity of money), Andrew and team decided to pivot to producing podcasts rather than written content because ad dollars we're much higher on that medium. Sports Drink is now helping local podcasts gain more reach, help build their brands, and give advertisers the opportunity to market to a growing number of listeners through their podcast network.

Viswant Korrapati joins Michael Rasile on For the Love of Sports to discuss how he found his way into the sports industry. As a first-generation American, V pushed to pursue becoming a doctor, lawyer, or business executive, not a mogul in the sports world.

Through his relationships at tOSU with the football team, V grew his presence in the space and started adding value to the players leaving for the NFL, throwing them draft parties. He built relationships and gained trust through this to the point of being an access point for many of these athletes.

V expanded from throwing parties to being a conduit for businesses to these athletes helping facilitate deals between athletes and brands. Eventually, V and Partha Unnava met up and their relationship grew to the point of V agreeing to take on the role of Director of Partnerships at Lasso.

Lasso is a company built around prehab and making people feel good wearing the socks on their feet! V has used his relationships with athletes and people to expand Lasso's brand and understands that patience will be a virtue in getting this product in front of the right people.

Lauren Ammon joins Michael Rasile on For the Love of Sports to discuss her division 1 swimming career, the hard truths around the end of it, and what she is doing now to help other athletes through these types of transitions.

After her swamming career ended at Eastern Michigan, Lauren had a hard time coping with 17 years of her life ending abruptly. It took her many years before she could even come to terms with it. She then found out that she's not the only one and this is more common than not in elite athletes.

Lauren has now started a coaching program specifically for athletes to help them connect with their sports but also understands that their sport is giving them skills and attributes that will be very useful after their careers come to an end. Working with high school aged kids, Performance Reimagined is helping athletes cope with all of the difficulties that come with their sports while giving them the support they need.

Tyler Gallagher joins Michael Rasile on For the Love of Sports to talk all things esports and gaming. Tyler has been a huge fan of the video game scene since early on. He even credits gaming with helping him overcome many bouts of panic attacks in his life.

Kunal Gandhi joins Michael Rasile on For the Love of Sports to discuss his love of training his body and how that allowed him to start EZPT. At a young age, he realized that his health was one thing he could do the best at controlling and started to work out an immense amount. After a bad injury, Kunal thought "pushing through" was the best thing for him and worsened the situation.

Once he realized there was an opportunity to prevent injuries through motion detection, Kunal knocked door to door on research professors' offices to see how he could get this done.

Eventually, Kunal and his business partners founded EZPT, a motion detection app that will show users how they are moving and what they need to change to get the most out of a workout and prevent injuries. This application is also being utilized in physical therapy offices to allow therapists to see exactly how the user is moving to continue progression after an injury.
