Reimagine Church --- Acts 8:26-40

The story of Philip and the Ethiopian official is such an image of how we should imagine church. Beyond the obvious enactment of the Great Commission, it shows how the church should grow and for whom it is meant to grow. The Ethiopian church, which outdates Constantine's conversion, acknowledges this as an important part of their history. A subject who was effectively property of another despite his station realized he could worship one who takes wounds for the people rather than inflict them on his followers.
