On the front lines of wolf restoration in the Western USA since 1988, Suzanne founded the ongoing Wood River Wolf Project in 2008, was the lead author on the first landscape level wolf and sheep nonlethal measures study Adaptive use of nonlethal strategies for minimizing wolf–sheep conflict in Idaho, and is a current member of the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Species Survival Commission (SSC) Canid Specialist Group.
