//// THIS WEEK ////

The difficulty you're facing right now can either be accepted or it can be allowed. One will leave you overwhelmed and unable to move from the foothills - while the other will help you climb this mountain with grace.

When you accept difficulties in your life, you tell yourself that there’s an unwanted external presence forcing itself upon you without your consent. This belief then contorts the body into defensive postures, using all of its energy to protect you against perceived threats.

What is ‘unwanted' or 'undesirable' causes us emotional and psychological stress – which translates into toughened, inflexible, and protective bodies.

This means that our biography really does become our biology.

But what if we choose to allow instead?

We can allow this difficult moment or emotion to be as it is. It has a right to be here, to teach us what we need to know in order to grow fuller. It might still hurt – but we can allow it our breath and presence. We can allow it to show us its roots so that we can better understand its reason for being here. We can allow ourselves to feel this hurt without needing to fix it. We can allow ourselves to grow softer in its company.

Unwanted guests really are the best teachers.

If we accepted an unwanted guest in our house, we would have little power to make them leave. We would just accept their presence and try to avoid them as best as possible. We might as well accept what we can't change, right?

But if we allowed them to be here...if we invited them to cross the threshold with permission - we could then ask them for a lesson in return. We could create boundaries for them.  And because of this empowered mindset, we would then be able to ask them to leave when it was time.

We can accept the lack of control we currently have – or we can allow this lack of control to show us how to surrender to the greater vision Love has for our life.
