Val and Paul run down the biggest points in the Warhammer 40,000 Sept Big FAQ. We chat about the huge changes to fly and certain stratagems. Check out all the new FAQs for the game and the Codexes at the Warhammer Community site.
Hi all,
Fly… We thought we knew what we were doing. In the Movement Phase fly is still the same. In the Charge Phase players were previously using this movement to hop over units, intervening terrain, and cover giant vertical distances. No more… You now have to consider these things during your Charge Move. This will take a little getting used to. I know I’ve enjoyed being able to leapfrog over units with the occasional Daemon Prince or Blood Angel Captain.
Overall this FAQ seems centered on game function and less tweaks to the way codexes are played outside of Dark Eldar. The Agents of Vect Stratagem has been a real barrier for opponents and now the Drukarhi players will be required to have Kabal of the Black Heart models ON THE TABLE in order for them to use this powerful Stratagem. It’s a nice change.
Knights see Command Point increases to their most powerful Stratagems as well. This is subtle but significant. Intragame command point farms have taken a hit. There is a maximum of one command point that can be regenerated per battle round. BIG CHANGE!
Reserves… and Forward Operative like deployment. Wow.. This type of deployment was new in this more aggressive edition of 40k. It seems like its been a little too aggressive and may have been contributing to a poor play experience. This FAQ brought significant changes to how these alternate deployment schemes work. We talk a bit about it on the show but more to come as we talk about army list design in future episodes.
A full list of FAQs can be found via the link above. I love that we have these balances reviews at set points in the year. While there is some anxiety and anticipation that leads up to this it stays pure to the intent – we get to take the temperature of the game and have tweaks made that in the long run benefit us all.

This is a double sized episode. We’re joined by the first ever Kill Team Champion and a host of community organizers for Community Spotlight segments. This is a Kill Team focused episode where we break down a few of the things to watch out for if you’re just getting into the game.
Hi guys,
We’re joined by Thomas Miller to talk about his success at the NOVA Open Kill Team Tournament and to discuss Kill Team in general. It’s a pleasure to have him on the show.
We include 3 Community Spotlights in this show. I really dig being able to talk to these guys on air. These event organizers and community leaders listen to the show and when they reached out it was a no-brainer to bring them on to talk about their tournaments. PLEASE check out their events. If you can make it to any of them you will not be disappointed. Links below!
Later in the show we discuss how Thousand Suns have the potential to be a powerhouse in Kill Team. They have durability, great offense and can compete in every phase of the game. The roster has a mix of cheap objective holders and powerful marine units to do your damage.
The Crucible in Orlando FL USA. Find information here.
Blood and Glory in Derby UK. Find information here.
The Last Chance Open in Southport UK. Find information here.
We close out the show with a segment about the Dragon Fall convention. There are SEVERAL 40k events going on at this convention in the Chicago area. These guys put on a great show. Please check them out if you can. October 20th-21st.

I’m extremely pleased to welcome Sideshow to the show this week. We met at Gencon this year and recorded a segment about their first original property Court of the Dead: Mourner’s Call – a new board game. We speak about their design philosophy. amazing creativity and dive deep into the origins of their game. Later in the show we speculate about the 40k FAQ we can expect later this year and give reason to finally keep a hobby journal.
Hey Everyone,
In the first segment of the show Paul sits down with Tom Gilliland, Sideshow Chief Creative Officer and Creator of Court of the Dead, Rachel Roubicek, Sideshow Designer (played a key role in the design of almost all the Court of the Dead characters) and Matt Molen, Sideshow Sr. Concept Designer (sculpted many of the Mouners Call miniatures). You can find information about the game by clicking here and more about the world and characters in the game by clicking here.
I was absolutely fascinated with how into their work these guys are. It was great to hear that they were also huge fans of the properties represented in their statues and art. If you haven’t already, I highly encourage you to check out the Sideshow website. You’ll be blown away.
In the second part of the show Ricky, Chris and Paul get back to the 40k talk. We speak a bit about a short form battle report we posted on YouTube and rank the Space Wolves vs the rest of the Space Marine Chapters.
We then talk a little bit about what hobby stuff we’ve been working on and stress the importance of keeping a hobby journal. When you are coming back to an army or a faction or whatever after you haven’t touched in months you might forget some of the colors you use. Never forget when you wright it down!!

Today we talk about the new Kill Team expansion Rogue Trader, releasing this weekend. The figures are great. The game is taking off like wild fire and this expansion gives you another way to play it. The box set also comes with rules on how to include the figures in your games of Warhammer 40,000.
Hey all,
These models in the Kill Team expansion are nuts! Absolutely off the chain beautiful. While I don’t think we’ll see these guys make an appearance in regular competitive 40k games they seem to be pretty stout in Kill Team.
Later in the show we chat about a debate going on in ‘competitive groups’ on if Army Lists should be required to be published, when they should be published or if they should be published at all. This originated from a discussion our Canadian Correspondent Val H had in the BCP Facebook group.
Our opinion is a resounding YES. More information about the game is better. It leads to more hype, greater exposure to people that may have no idea where you start with their list, better community engagement, etc. It’s all good news and the more the better.
The hobby segment is about contrast on your figures. We talk about why you need it, how to get it, and when you might actually be battling against yourself with some of your current painting habits.
Keep your eyes peeled on our YouTube channel. More video battle reports are coming soon!

We were on the edge of our seats waiting on info from the Games Workshop Studio Preview and thankfully directly after the screening the Warhammer Community page releases all the info! Its not quite as nice as being there in person but it’s close. We give our reactions to all the news.
Hey guys,
We kick the show off talking about an awesome month long series of events in FL submitted by a listener. You find out more on the event here!
You can follow along with everything we’re talking about by going to the Games Workshop Community team page.
I’m really digging on these boxed games GW is putting out and its always cool to find more neat things to do with our models.
Safe travels to everyone who’ll be heading to tournaments and events this weekend. Please keep those event suggestion rolling in. We’ll mention as many as we can on air.

It’s just Paul and Chris today but the rest of the crew will be back next week. We explore making Space Wolves work on the table and some upcoming test games. It’s such a strong codex and there are lots of bells and whistles to get distracted with.
Hey all,
We take a deeper look at the Space Wolves this week and discuss some sample army inclusions.
Paul plans to attempt a Blood Angel and Wolf team up. We’ll see how that goes.
We talk a bit about Logan and how much of a force multiplier he is. He hits hard too. Again.. the Space Wolves have no shortage of cool things to take in their army. Chris brings up a couple of cool points about Forge World too.
Clearly we’re excited about this book but it’s nice to have the idea of putting Power Armor guys back on the table.
We ask people to submit their tournament and events for us to talk about next week. If you’ve got something you’d like us to talk about please give us a shout on Twitter or Facebook.

Holy Smokes. The Space Wolves are here and they are worth the wait. The Space Wolves are the favorite chapter of many in 40k. Old and new fans of this faction have a LOT to keep themselves busy with many army list combinations and the opportunity to make almost everything in the Space Marines army range ‘wolfified.’
Hey guys,
The Space Wolves have been known for their ‘not psykers’ in the form of Rune Priests and they take prominent role in this codex. They have an impressive stratagem that allows them to boost the power of Living Lighting up to 11. It requires they take 3 Rune Priests.. but that’s not a problem. You probably want to take them anyway.
All the Space Wolf characters return. The stand out for us is Arjac Rockfirst. He is basically a wrecking ball with a ton of wounds (if you make him your warlord). He’s got an invul save and a hammer that just won’t quit.
The ‘space marine’ bodies in this book are very important. I think this may be the dex that brings the power armor guys back to the table. Wolf Scouts are elite choices, for starters, so people trying to splash anything other than a supreme command will need the Wolf Guard or Blood Claw Troop options.
Still.. this isn’t a tax as they have pretty good weapon options and synergy throughout the list with Character buffs, stratagems and more.
We really enjoyed talking about this codex. If you’ve ever wanted to start a Space Wolves army or have one on the shelf you haven’t played in a while… You’re in for a treat. This is a great book.

The BIGGEST thing to hit the Warhammer Universe in a long time. Of course we’re talking about Adeptus Titanicus this week. This is right up our alley with amazing looking miniatures and our strong desire to move super war machines around the table. We review the rules for this cool new game in this episode.
Hey all,
Ricky and Paul go nuts about Adeptus Titaticus this week. Ricky is all about the Titans and owns a few of the full sized ones and is a know Knight player. Needless to say he is excited about this release.
The Grand Master Edition of this set gives you a TON of stuff and enough for you and a buddy to start playing the game as soon as you get your figures assembled. This is not a ‘skirmish’ game like we’ve seen from GW recently. This is a full on table top game similar to 40k in approach and length of play.
You are able to ‘manage’ your figures in a completely new way due to the Command Cards. This gives you more than just a wound tracker. You do get the sense that you’re a Titan Princeps deep in the heart of the Titan.

Ricky is back! Paul and Ricky kick of the show to discuss how Terminators may sweep the tournament scene. After that Paul and Reece from Frontline Gaming take a deep dive into a new ITC proposal they are calling Floor Rules – Rules of Etiquette for ITC tournaments.
Hey guys,
It’s great to have Ricky back and we spend quite a lot of time talking about Teleport Homers. Are these friendly models or not? More to the point, can they hold objectives? Sure, they are easy to get rid of if you can get close but what if?? We’re I asked to rule on this I would definitely say no but I think the jury is out on what the rules support.
In Part 2 we sit down with Reece from Frontline Gaming to talk about 40k Tournament Floor Rules. These are currently up for review, debate and revision in the ITC Tournament Organizer’s Facebook group. If you run ITC tournaments, big or small, you are encouraged to join this group
Most of the time it is just a place where event organizers can post questions to each other and trade techniques to make their tournaments even better. Every now and then something like these Floor Rules come along where it is good to get a LOT of opinions.
Like with anything, it is COMPLETELY up to the individual TOs to decide what to adopt but I think this is the natural progression as our Matched Play scene grows.
In part 3 we talk about the innovative lists that did really well at the Bay Area Open, an event hosted by Frontline Gaming.

It’s just Paul and Val for this show. We talk just a little about Kill Team at the start of the show then we do a DEEP dive into the Tau. This applied directly to what Val is taking in a couple of upcoming tournaments. I think we touch on a few things that people are overlooking about this faction.
Hi everyone,
The Tau were once a super dominant force on the tabletop and recently they’ve taken a back seat. Its not quite as much of a point and click army as it used to be. There is a lot of style and ‘art’ to the Tau.
I faced two killer Tau armies at the ATC and have been pretty interested in them since It seemed like a good idea to get down and dirty on them with an expert like Val.
Hopefully we help get more life out of your current Tau army or maybe show you what Tau generals may be fielding soon.
We also chat about some upcoming events. More to come!
Hobby Segment is back next week!
