  • “A Test of Mercy” | Genesis 42
Joseph had every reason to retaliate against the brothers who betrayed him, yet he chose mercy instead. When his brothers arrived in Egypt desperate for food, Joseph tested their hearts rather than exposing them to shame or punishment. He provided grain, returned their money, and sent them home with provisions, none of which they had earned. This mirrors the grace described in Ephesians 2, where God, rich in mercy, made us alive in Christ even while we were dead in our sin. The brothers' growing conviction over their past wrong reflects how genuine repentance works. Transformation, not perfection, is the evidence that mercy has truly been received. Those who have genuinely experienced God's forgiveness will find that mercy flowing outward toward others, even those who have caused deep pain. God's plans run deeper than our pain, and the mercy He extends to us is meant to move through us to the people around us.

  • The Wrath of God
The sermon explores the profound necessity of the gospel by examining Romans 1, focusing on God's wrath against suppressed truth and humanity's inherent sinfulness. It highlights how mankind substitutes the glory of God with created things, leading to divine abandonment. The message contrasts this judgment with the hope found in Christ, who was given over for human offenses to satisfy justice. By understanding the severity of sin and the cost of forgiveness, believers are called to live by faith rather than shame. Ultimately, the gospel is presented as the only power capable of delivering humanity from God's righteous anger.

  • The Grave Is Not The End
The sermon uses the narrative of Joseph's death and burial in Genesis 50 to illustrate that physical death is not the end of existence but a transition to being with the Lord. It emphasizes the theological truth that believers are freed from the fear of past sins because they are covered by the blood of Jesus, urging Christians to stop self-condemnation and trust in God's complete forgiveness. The preacher connects Joseph's journey from pit to palace with the doctrine of the rapture, explaining that this hope should purify the believer's life and foster loyalty to Christ rather than passive waiting. By contrasting the world's desire for earthly preservation with the Christian's eternal hope, the message highlights God's faithfulness to keep His promises across generations. Ultimately, it calls listeners to assurance of salvation through the blood of the Lamb, ensuring peace in the face of mortality.

  • 🔥 PRIDE: THE SIN THAT EXALTS SELF ABOVE GOD 🕊️
What does the Bible really say about pride, and how can pride quietly destroy our relationship with God and the people we love most? In this Bible study, we take a deeper look at the sin of pride—a heart problem that can produce arrogance, selfishness, stubbornness, anger, contention, unforgiveness, and spiritual independence from God. Proverbs 15:25 gives us a sobering warning: "The LORD will destroy the house of the proud." This powerful statement should cause every Christian to stop and examine his or her heart. Pride can place our ego on the throne, damage marriages and families, and prevent us from saying, "I was wrong. Please forgive me." But there is hope. God gives grace to the humble. We will examine biblical characteristics of pride and consider practical ways to fight pride in our daily lives: 🙏 Regularly examine our hearts 🙌 Give God the glory for our abilities and accomplishments 🕊️ Practice humility and dependence upon God ✝️ Make Jesus Christ our example of humility John 15:5 reminds us: "...without me ye can do nothing." The battle against pride is ultimately a battle over who sits on the throne of our hearts. Pride exalts self, but humility exalts Christ. As we yield ourselves to God, His grace works within us, giving us both the desire and the ability to do His will. 💧 God's grace flows to the low places. Let us humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God and allow His grace to transform our hearts, our marriages, our families, and our service for Christ.
