I don't know if this is a hot take or not, but I know it's not the norm.

I don't believe you need to forgive anyone for anything. You are the only person who controls your mind. So, if you let someone else control it for any reason, you are the one that wronged yourself.

Because of that, you are the person you need to forgive. It doesn't matter what the deed was, either. You control your mind. Forgive yourself for your reaction and accept the reality.
