Nathan Moran is a US Navy and US Army veteran. Nathan’s Grandfather served in the Korean war and Nathan spent time in Korea as well. After leaving the military Nathan and his girlfriend Michelle have taken on the task of helping veterans and their loved ones find the records and information they need.

Today’s episode is sort of a compilation episode. The first half of the episode I talk about my Grandfather and how his service in Korea led to starting this podcast. In the second half I talk about the weapons and equipment used by the armed forces in Korea.

On this episode we hear from PFC Orville Dean. Orville was in 1st Battalion, 17th Infantry regiment, 7th Infantry division. He was a part of the last battle for Pork Chop hill on July 6th-11th 1953. Orville also talks about his Brother who was a WW2 veteran.

Christopher Russell is a author living in Washington D.C. Today we about Phillip Hughes who was KIA fighting in Korea. Christopher tells the young man’s story in his book “Battle of Turkey thicket.

Susan Kee is a Korean American writer, Korean War historian, and advocate for Korean War Veterans and Gold Star Families. She is devoted to making known the heroes and history of the Korean War, which is often referred to as the Forgotten War.

Her parents were young teenagers during the Korean War. Susan’s father and granfather's family were Christians and also landowners in Pyongyang North Korea before the Communist takeover of North Korea. Her father’s family became targets of North Korean communist dictator, Kim Il Sung and thus escaped to South Korea in 1949. During the Korean War, her father enlisted with the Republic of Korea’s Army and fought alongside American soldiers during the war.
