I’m sitting down with Pastor Greg Laurie — the man who helped save my life without even knowing it. When I was in solitary confinement for almost three years in 1991, I discovered Greg’s radio show on my Sony Walkman. As I struggled to understand Scripture in that dark hole, Greg would miraculously explain the exact verses I was reading. He helped me develop my faith when I needed it most. When I got out in 1996, I tracked him down at Harvest Church to thank him. His people told him “some mob guy is outside looking for you” and Greg asked “Did he say anything about getting whacked?” 30 years later, we’re still close friends. Greg was there the day tragedy struck my home, comforting my daughter through the darkest time of her life. He doesn’t just preach the gospel — he lives it. Now we’re heading to Utah together for a Harvest Crusade on November 16th, in the wake of Charlie Kirk’s assassination. In six weeks, we mounted what usually takes a year to prepare.
