COURSE DESCRIPTION
According to The Healthy Workforce Institute, “71% of physicians and nurses have linked incivility to medical error; 27% of physicians and nurses said disrespect led to a patient’s death. 81% of nurses who leave an organization cite peer and nurse/manager relations as a cause for leaving.” The purpose of this PodClass is to introduce participants with a simple, actionable, nursing principle to improve the quality and safety of patient care; and the health of workplace culture.
Any nurse who works in an arena where the words: “CODE BLUE” are as common as a missed lunch-break, will tell you that going ‘back to the basics’ of the ABCs - Airway, Breathing, Circulation - is an antidote fear, doubt, and indecision. Amber Moore brings the same kind of simplicity and clarity to her practice as a clinical nurse, nurse manager and educator, by leading with a ‘moral compass’. She illustrates how making integrity the highest value of her nursing practice has made her a courageous and uncompromising advocate for her patients.
