FORT LARAMIE "New Recruit"

Originally established as a private fur trading fort in 1834, Fort Laramie evolved into the largest and best known military post on the Northern Plains before its abandonment in 1890. This “grand old post” witnessed the entire sweeping saga of America’s western expansion and Indian resistance to encroachment on their territories.

Western series starring Raymond Burr as Captain Lee Quince. It aired Sunday afternoons January 22–October 28, 1956, at 5:30pm ET. Produced and directed by Norman MacDonnell, this Western drama depicted life at old Fort Laramie during the 19th Century.

Episode 13 aired on April 22, 1956 over the CBS Radio Network. The story of a man who was in the army...but never really a soldier, who re-enlists, but for a strange reason.
