Fort Worth Famous

Hi, friends!

This week we are joined by two of our favorite people and some of my oldest friends, Harvey and Jocelyn! Joce and Erv came on the podcast to talk to us about #BlackLivesMatter and what life is like for them and many other black members of our community.

The injustices are not going to stop without your help. We hope you learn something from this episode and feel empowered to make changes. The deadline to register to vote for the next election in Texas is June 14th. If you still need to register or check your voter registration status please visit: https://www.votetexas.gov/register-to-vote/

We love all of you so much!

Hi Friends!

We know we want to talk about Black Lives Matter and what is going on in Fort Worth, but we also want to do it right – so we are having friends come in to do an extra special bonus episode this coming Sunday. Be on the lookout for it!

In the meantime, this week in the treehouse Ivy and I try to figure out why I keep killing my plants, Ivy’s hunt for a new coffee maker and just what we have been up to over the past couple of weeks. Can anyone guess which one of us went camping with her pals?! We are super excited to be in charge of two (that’s right, TWO) people’s dating lives and Ivy is punished for challenging the universe during Red Flags vs. Deal Breakers. Also, Pride Month has begun and we are going to start having guests! Lastly, find out what we think of one of our favorite bands going on hiatus and what one of our favorite drummers has up his sleeve!

Hi, friends!

This week Susie came to the Treehouse so we could talk about our current obsessions, an update of actual life things we've been doing (yay for those coming back!) and pocket sandwiches? Raise your hand if you keep snacks in your pocket throughout the day. Oh and bathroom boudoir pictures during Thanks for the Memories! Because I received one of those in the last couple of weeks and we were shook. For our Fort Worth pick-of-the week we discussed staying connected with friends and reopening Fort Worth.

P.S. Thanks for being patient with me and uploading late this week.

XOXO, Ivy and Susie

Hi, friends!

This week Susie came over to the treehouse to discuss some of our favorite local restaurants and businesses we can support during quarantine. I made her some whipped coffee before the show so we could properly discuss it during our obsessions (Have you tried it? Tell me what you think!). And then we did something a little different this week and went on a teeny tiny rant about some things that have been bothering us. But that led us right into an actual update about my dating and playing red flags vs deal breakers. Let us know what you think! We love hearing from you!

Hey, Friends!

This week Susie came to the treehouse to discuss part two of our favorite local bands! Before we got to the good stuff though, we started with our obsessions, of course! For this episode's Topics and Things, we talked about all things new skincare, Bravo, my online shopping addiction and more. During Thanks for the Memories, we played a super fun game of Red Flags vs Dealbreakers (an actual card game I purchased - judge me all you want for that). After nearly peeing my pants from laughter, we came back to hash out the remainder of our "Favorite Local Bands" list.

Full disclosure, this may be my favorite episode we've done so far.

xoxo, Ivy

You guys!

I'm sorry I'm uploading this so late! Raise your hand if WFH is getting to you too!

This week it's just us because, you know, the whole social distancing thing. During Topics and Things (formally Shoot the Sh*t) we discuss our usual obsessions, dating during COVID and petty deal breakers and then we discussed some of our favorite local bands. Will this episode be the one where we rank all of our favorite musicians?? This is just part 1 of our favorite bands so if we didn't shout your band out specifically, know you are probably making the next episode!

Hey, friends!

This week we had a little family chat with our special guests, my younger siblings, Bryan and Katie!

As usual, we kicked off the podcast with our obsessions.  Susie brought up some truly devastating news for me - Tom Brady leaving the Patriots. I told the fam about the last date I went on and the complete fiasco it was. We discussed a little bit about the current state of the world and how we think social gatherings will change. Then we dove into what it was like growing up with Susie, how we are as siblings and wrapped it up nice and neat for you! It's a quick one, but there's lots of laughing so give it a listen if you need some cheering up right now!

Happy (early) Birthday, Jeff! This week we have our bestie and inspiration for this podcast, Jeffrey Lord on the show! We made Jeff talk about his obsessions (and ours), which type of punctuation is the sluttiest, a little dating discussion and then, of course, ALL about what makes Jeff "Fort Worth Famous."

Make sure to tune into the end of the show for our Music Minute and catch us at one of those shows over the next two weeks!

xoxo Ivy and Susie

P.S. I set up the recording system, mics and bounced down the episode all by myself this week!! #PersonalGrowth or something - Ivy

Hi, friends!

First, we want to wish a big, huge happy birthday to Rebekah Elizabeth! Love you so much!

This week we are finally recording from the treehouse! Your girls got all the equipment and we set up shop in my newly redesigned living room - exciting! We talked about all of our current obsessions including Susie's love of documentaries, my obsession with redecorating my apartment and...I'm sure other things, but now it's been a few days so it will be a surprise for all of us.

We then dive into all things music venues in Fort Worth and the surrounding areas. We talk about why we love them, why we don't love them so much and some stories of times we've been there. Let us know in the comments if we forgot any good ones, your personal favorites (or dislikes) or as you listen (which honestly is my favorite

Happy Valentine's Week, Friends!

This week we have a very special Fort Worth Famous Valentine's Massacre with the boys from JJTM joining us to discuss all things about love - my favorite!

But first, tragedy struck. I'm still learning how to be a "producer" and accidentally deleted the original recording. FML. I actually cried. It's fine. The boys were kind enough to stick around and record a second, even better, Valentine's episode! We party hard on Sundays.

Of course we opened up the show catching up and sharing our current obsessions and then we dove right into the good stuff - all things Valentine's day, first kisses, dating apps, love languages...I could go on, but then you wouldn't need to listen.

As always, leave us some love in the comments or send us messages (I got one today saying I sound cute???). P.S. We are just waiting on the approval from iTunes and then we will be up and going on there too!
