Venus, the Empress & the Power of Emotional Creation
Hello, and welcome to Victoria Venenum’s Mystic Maps — the podcast where the stars meet the cards, and every day of the week brings its own vibration.
Today is Friday — and Friday is Venus Day.
Venus, the planet of love, beauty, pleasure, value, and connection, is the ruler of two zodiac signs: Taurus and Libra.
But when we look at the tarot, things get a little more interesting.
Segment 1: Venus in the Tarot – A Major Arcana Force
Unlike some other planets, Venus doesn’t rule any Minor Arcana cards directly.However, she shows up in not one, not two, but three Major Arcana cards, each reflecting her influence in unique ways.
Here’s how it breaks down:
* Trump 3 – The Empress — the true Venus card.
* Trump 5 – The Hierophant — corresponding with Taurus, ruled by Venus.
* And Justice, which depending on your deck is either Trump 8 or Trump 9, and corresponds with Libra, also ruled by Venus.
Today, we’ll be focusing on The Empress, Venus in her most direct and expressive tarot form.
Segment 2: Venus Close to the Heart — Astrological Note
Just like Mercury, Venus travels close to the Sun.This means astrologically, Venus can only ever be found within five signs of your Sun sign.
So in a birth chart — or a tarot spread reflecting astrological influence — your Venus might show up in a very different sign from your personality...Which can bring fresh perspective, contrast, and unexpected lessons into your life.
We'll explore some of those in future episodes.
Segment 3: The Empress – Venus in Her Full Power
Now let’s dive into today’s featured energy:The Empress — Trump number three in the Major Arcana.
At her core, the Empress represents:
* Maternity or a maternal figure.
* Fertility, creation, and nurturing.
* The embodiment of love in all its forms — sensual, romantic, artistic, and emotional.
But Venus isn’t just lace and roses.She’s also nature.And nature, while beautiful, can be brutal.
So while the Empress is deeply generous, loving, and intuitive — she also represents emotional power, and sometimes, emotional chaos.
Segment 4: Emotional Expression — From Love to Storms
Here’s where it gets real.
The Empress — and Venus by extension — is about expressing emotion.This might be through:
* Affection and intimacy
* Art and creativity
* Or on the darker side — through violent emotion, emotional outbursts, even metaphorical “natural disasters.”
You could say the Empress is like Mother Nature herself.
She’s nurturing, lush, life-giving…Until she’s overwhelmed.And then — hurricanes, earthquakes, eruptions.
This can happen inside you, too.A normally calm person with Empress energy might erupt in rage, sorrow, or passion that seems to come out of nowhere. But it doesn’t come from nowhere — it comes from the build-up of suppressed emotion.
Segment 5: Worry, Avoidance & Internal Fallout
Another trait of the Empress?She feels everything.
And that can lead to worry — especially when things are left unresolved.
If you’re carrying this energy and making hasty or avoidant decisions — just to get something off your plate — know this:
The problem doesn’t actually go away.It goes inward.
And now, instead of one external issue, you’re left with an internal storm.The Empress doesn’t let you bury what you feel.If you don’t deal with it, she will — and she’ll do it through sleepless nights, anxiety, emotional outbursts, or even physical symptoms.
So if you’re tempted to brush off something that really needs to be addressed — ask yourself:Wouldn’t it be better to deal with it now, rather than carry it forever?
Segment 6: Growth on the Horizon — Big Plans Ahead
But it’s not all storm clouds and shadows.
The Empress, when appearing in a reading — or expressing herself in your life — can signal big plans, big news, or a major transformation on the way.
This could mean:
* A pregnancy.
* A wedding.
* A career shift.
* A creative explosion.
* Or even a move into a new life chapter.
Whatever it is, it’s important.It’s close.And it’s likely something you’ve already been feeling brewing beneath the surface.
Closing: Venus, the Empress & Emotional Sovereignty
So on this Venus Friday, I leave you with this:
* Are you nurturing yourself the way you nurture others?
* Are you expressing your emotions — or bottling them?
* Are you creating with purpose… or avoiding with distraction?
Because Venus teaches us to love, yes — but also to honor the truth of our emotions.And The Empress teaches us that love and beauty are powerful forces — but they require care, courage, and clarity.
