Founder Story | Max Ferguson | Lumin
Max founded Lumin in 2014 to create a better way for people to annotate and collaborate on PDF files. Since then, the company has grown to a huge community of over 70 million people who use Lumin to get work done digitally. Lumin is based in Christchurch, New Zealand but has over 50 team members located around the world.
Max is a Fulbright scholar and he holds a PhD in Civil Engineering and Computer Science from Stanford University. He built the original version of Lumin over a three-week period while studying Engineering at the University of Canterbury, and has over 10 years of experience in bringing software products to market.
With a passion for software accessibility, Max believes that everyone regardless of age, gender, location, or social status should have access to great software products.
