When Obanda’s husband was ensnared by an older woman who allegedly used witchcraft against her, Obanda faced a devastating curse that led to a year-long battle with illness and depression. At her lowest point, she contemplated a heartbreaking choice for herself and her daughter. 

Join us as Obanda shares her story of transformation and self-discovery. She realized the importance of taking time for herself and emerged stronger, dedicating her life to empowering others. Now, she is making a difference in her community, helping over 250 women learn to read and write, and providing essential skills like soap-making and hygiene education. Additionally, she's supporting more than 500 children in their quest for literacy every day.

In this riveting episode, we meet Coralie - a young woman whose passion and purpose as a therapist is helping individuals and couples find healing where there was hurt before in their relationships. After experiencing heartbreak almost a decade ago and doing her own self-work and authorship of a poetry collection on healing, Coralie felt like she had finally found her perfect match, and a safe harbor and landing space for her heart.

However, she shares with hindsight numerous red flags she overlooked or rationalized to hold onto this connection, and how trying to show unconditional love to her partner in his darkest moments almost cost Coralie her life. Reflecting on finding a balance berween empathy and boundaries; loving someone else without betraying yourself; and healing from the addictive highs and lows created from narcissistic abuse — Coralie shares from a place of vulnerability and insight informed by the healing that has taken place since she left.

Coralie explores what creating a life worth living can look like post-abuse, and her determination to find some type of healing and growth after losing what felt like everything. Leaning into community, dance, her work with her clients, as well as family and friends - Coralie worked to transform the work she did with clients, particularly in supporting and empowering women who are experiencing domestic violence and narcissistic abuse. She is hopeful that her story can remind people that even if the road is long and you don’t know where to turn — that there is support, and eventually truly can and does get better.

Kristin married young and in love, thinking she was doing what she was supposed to. A few months in, things started to change, but she convinced herself it was just a one-off. The emotional and mental abuse crept in. Kristin went from being outgoing and fun-loving to completely isolated from her friends and family. It took her a while to realize what was happening. Finally, with the support of a coworker, she saw she could take her power back, and when she had an opening, she took it.
