What do you get a country that has conquered the North American continent and exhausted Manifest Destiny?  Land overseas!  We chat about some of the land that the US had scooped up and why we created the Panama Canal!

The Spanish-American War was one of the, if not the quickest war in US History.  What is quicker than that?  This podcast.  We give you a bite-sized look into the war and what it meant for American imperialism.

We talk about muckraking and what used to be passed off as beef.  We also talk about the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire and how it was just failure after failure after failure.  We also talk about early union history in the US and wrap things up with the Progressive Era and ole Teddy Roosevelt.

Better late than never!  Today we talk about the Gilded Age.  We talk about the good that came out of it and we hint at the bad.  We talk about light bulbs and trains that won't stop!

Now that Reconstruction is underway, do you think everything is going to go back to normal?  Of course not.  We talk about how the South actively undermined the Civil War amendments.
