There might not be a more frightening feeling than believing we're alone in this world. The apostle Paul will show us that through the gospel, we can know we're never alone, but that Jesus is always with us and that Jesus is stronger than any situation we face. And Jesus will replace our fears with abundant joy.

As we near the climax of Advent in Christmas Eve, the Magi bring us toward the heart of what responding to the coming Christ, the baby in the manger, is all about.  And with a deeper look at the Magi, we might be surprised of all they have to teach us.  Who all does Jesus come for as the King of the Jews?  How do those far from God ever know where to find him?  What's the right response to seeing the King of Kings?

Traditionally, the season of Advent has been a time of helping us all prepare.  It is a season of preparation.  Christ has come to us, and Christ will come to us, and Advent is a time of preparing to meet him.  What does it mean to be ready to meet Christ?  Is there something required of me for when I do meet Christ?  How should I prepare so that I am ready?
