Title:  A root out of a dry ground.
Introduction:
 In the fall of 2019, God used my encounter with a strange tomato plant growing on the concrete median of highway I-5 North to teach me lessons on how to thrive in adverse conditions. That was just a couple of months before the Covid pandemic upended our world. In this episode, I share the lessons I learnt as the Holy Spirit spoke to me on my daily commute as I drove by that lonely tomato plant and how that became inspiration for a theme on this podcast. I pray that God will strengthen your faith as you listen to the truths I learnt about how to thrive even if life feels like being alone, unappreciated and unloved as a tomato plant growing in the harsh open air of the concrete median on the highway.

The Gospel message which we live and share with others is not time-bound, it existed before the world system and its relevance is eternal. However, because we live in a world system which is constantly changing and is increasingly anti-Christ, we will always face challenging circumstances both in our personal lives and in demonstrating God's word to the world. Our lives will always run counter-current to the world's expectations. The challenge therefore is, how  do we stay relevant in a world system opposed to God and seeking to eliminate every form of Christian value and virtue? As part of Christian maturity and growth, we experience pruning and refinement from God. These experiences taken together can at times make our walk with God a painful experience.
In these series of Episodes, the Host Charles Zuta and Guest, Rev Prof Spencer Duncan, will help the believer understand the relevance of going through the fire of adversities, what to make of those experiences and how to endure and overcome.

Since the biblical definition of ‘prospering’ includes being successful. I am therefore using success in this context, as synonymous to prosperity. Unfortunately, the teaching of prosperity in the church stirs up so much controversy, to the point of it being labelled as promoting greed and excess, sometimes rightly so. The discussion of the topic of prosperity in church therefore raises several questions including: How do we define prosperity? is prosperity really bad, does God endorse and want us to prosper? As usual, we will turn to scriptures for answers to these and many other questions we may have. Title: Season 1 Summary

Season Title: The Cross- God’s eternal message of love.

Introduction:
The Cross is a universally recognized symbol of Christianity and serves as a reminder of the pain, suffering and ultimate sacrifice which Jesus Christ made to atone for the sins of the world and bring salvation to humanity. In fact, on the Cross, God was punishing Himself in Jesus Christ to meet the demands of divine Justice for the penalty of death God imposed on Adam and Eve and their descendants. The Cross, therefore, is not only a place of shame, rejection, suffering, and death, but it is also where God demonstrated His love for humanity. While we may never fully comprehend the mystery of God’s love for humanity which drove Him to endure the death of the Cross, we by accepting it, and trading places with Him, position ourselves to benefit from that sacrifice. In the episodes in this Series, I will discuss what Jesus’s death on the Cross accomplished for humanity and how we may effectively benefit from it.
