This week, we have the honor of speaking with Marilu Shinn, Medicine Woman of the Earth and student, Mesa Carrier, and healer of the Q'ero tradition of the High Andes. Marilu was born and raised in Mexico City and grew up in parallel worlds, the contemporary Mexico and the eclipsed, old world of mysticism. She witnessed firsthand her grandmother's Earth-based healing practices, which her grandmother then transmitted to her, along with the deeply embedded use of Plant Medicine & Ancestral Ceremony by the "Curanderos" (healers). In this episode, Marilu offers her powerful wisdom on finding balance in walking the Medicine Path, how to study and practice in a lineage that is not in your bloodline, how to connect more deeply to your Sacred Purpose, what it means to find fulfillment beyond money and recognition, and how to be in service to plant teachers and our indigenous brothers and sisters. Marilu also talks about the Mesa tradition of the High Andes, which she was initiated into, and how it helped her uncover forgotten ancient wisdom and reclaim her ancestral roots.
Marilu's inspiring story is an invitation for all of us to lean more deeply into alignment with our highest calling. Join us for this conversation as we learn from her experiences and insights.

The Vision of Children of the Rainforest: We envision a world of thriving rainforests, clean water, and abundant biodiversity. Where ancestral ways of nurturing the Earth are honored and children learn from elders how to care for the planet for all future generations. We believe Indigenous communities in the Amazon rainforest play a crucial role in protecting and nourishing biodiversity and they must be protected as their land and people are under threat of deforestation. We believe the most effective solution to protect the Amazon rainforest from deforestation and exploitation is to empower Indigenous communities to remain on their reserves and strengthen and expand the demarcation of Indigenous land rights. We believe Indigenous languages hold millenary wisdom and functional knowledge of the plants and biodiversity of the rainforest that cannot simply be translated. When an Indigenous language goes extinct the biodiversity and land suffers. We believe that language is the heart of culture. When an Indigenous culture loses its language, the culture is in danger of extinction. Without Indigenous communities thriving on their reserves, what will happen to the land, rivers, animals. Who will protect the Amazon rainforest?
This week we sat down with Andrew Soluna, a psychotherapist, director of Children of the Rainforest, and spokesperson and protector of the Yawanawá people of the Amazon rainforest. This episode is a powerful conversation about how to preserve ancestral wisdom cultures, why these traditions are so crucial for the flourishing of mankind, and what role each one of us can play in this guardianship. Andrew humbly shares his own personal story, of how he came to be in the role he is today, working on the grass roots level to support his teacher and friend, Chief Iskukua Yawanawa of the New Hope Village, in his vision of preserving and protecting the Yawanawa people and their language. Andrew shares about the journey he took to bring him to where he is today in his work and service, and the many lessons he learned along the way about the power of relationships and the interconnectedness of humanity.
Children of the Rainforest is a beautiful organization, one that we at Four Visions back wholeheartedly, and it is a true pleasure to get to bring you this wonderful conversation today.
In this episode, you will learn:
About the important role thatIndigenous communities have in protecting and nurturing the biodiversity in the Amazon rainforest, and how vital this biodiversity is for the whole planet
The impact of language on culture and how we can ensure that Indigenous languages are not lost.
Lessons and wisdom we can all learn from traditional indigenous cultures and and how we can foster relationships with them from a place of awareness, humility, and respect

In this episode, we welcome Leo Cordero, a medicine brother and healer who has spent the last decade studying various modalities of healing, including Aruvedic sciences, shamanic healing, and the culture of Yagé. Leo's journey began in his thirties when he was living a comfortable but unfulfilled life. He stumbled upon different tools that were fundamental in his awakening process, taking him on a search for a deeper connection with life & what it means to live in totality.
Leo shares his experience of studying and practicing different modalities of healing, starting with yoga and meditation and eventually progressing to Ayurveda, Transcendental Meditation, and shamanic practices. He never intended to become a healer, but in his own investigations and search for existential liberation, he arrived at a path of service, and it is from this place of selflessness and following the guidance of his heart that he has become a respected and powerful healer within his community. Leo also talks about the power of surrendering to life and being in the present moment, and what it truly means to live each instant moment as a gift from God.
Leo's journey is a powerful reminder and call to action to value our lives, and from this place of acceptance, gratitude, and awe with Creation, true fulfillment comes. It's also about the blessings that come when we give ourselves over to something greater than ourselves, and instead of overcomplicating things, let the spiritual path be in every thought, every action, and every breath.

Eli is a dedicated student of life and has been on a healing path since a young age. His personal healing journey has been informed by grief, through the loss of his older brother, as well as a quest for physical healing, which ignited the fire within him to go out and search for the tools to heal himself.
His search led him to the Amazon Jungle to study with the Taitas of the Ingano and Siona tribes of Colombia. He found healing, reconciliation, and peace through his work with the ancestral plants. For the last decade, he has been supporting these tribes to share their healing work with the world.
This is episode 2 in a three week series on the culture of Yagé. We dive deep into a powerful conversation about how to live life with more grace, beauty, and presence. We discuss the concepts of strengthening our spiritual fibers, staying calm in the midst of challenging circumstances, living a life of color, and other beautiful lessons we've received from the Taitas over the last decade.

The Four Visions podcast aims to delve into the world of plant medicines and examine the importance of being in a respectful relationship with the ancestral wisdom, cultures, and guardians of these traditions. Born from Mariah's transformative journey, Four Visions is an initiative to preserve and protect indigenous communities of the Amazon and South America through financial support, such as investment in infrastructure and clean water sources, while sharing their culture and spiritual healing tools with the West. The podcast explores three pillars: plant medicine, ethical commerce, and sacred reciprocity, balancing reverence for ancestral wisdom and scientific exploration of plant medicine. The goal is to educate and share valuable information with the community while being mindful of the implications of taking a tradition out of its native place.
