Another disappointing draw which makes it two in 5 days and destroys the run of momentum that was garnered last week. I break down the same familiar shortcomings and the clear lack of a consistent goal machine in the squad. What do you United need to do to get better well that's finish their chances. But it's hard not to feel sorry for Ten Hag as they are playing well but are just being so wasteful in front of goal it's definitely a hard watch especially when you are waking up early in the morning to watch this. Alan and I are back to discuss all things FPL in this week's podcast. We delve into the popular choice of wildcard's each sharing a squad we have created based on what we think are good sound selections. We talk about Liverpool players and I argue that you are best off waiting to gameweek 12 where the fixtures turn for Brighton, Bournemouth and Chelsea to play your wildcard this is now my preferred time to play it. We discuss the fixtures that were and the things that stood out for us from a fantasy perspective. We then almost lose Alan for a bit but we then touch on FPL challenge and what it is this week and we finish off by looking at the fixtures this week and which ones you should be targeting. I break down the disappointing nil all draw away at Palace. I look at the many positives on display but then the disappointing aspects to the game, the benching of Rashford and what it doesn't mean according to Ten Hag. The substitutions making the team worse! Palace growing into the game and finishing the stronger and again a real lack of cutting edge in the forward line with more chances going begging. I then review the ladies winning start to the season at home to West Ham, I then look ahead to our Europa League opening game at home to FC Twente and possible changes to the line up. Well I return to form with a gameweek 5 score of 80 helped largely by Arne Slot keeping Jota on the bench allowing the woody woodpecker wood to come on and deliver me 8 valuable points. I quickly review the highs and lows of my team for the week and my thoughts around the popular move of playing your first wildcard chip for gameweek 6. I cover the FPL challenge result for the week with one of my better performances. I then discuss the team I would create if I was wildcarding in the client itself well worth checking out. I then discuss whether I just do my two current trades of Henderson and Jota to Mbeumo and Raya or do I take the minus 8 to then bring in a Saka and Gabriel for Salah and Harwood-Bellis. I bask in the 7nil trashing of Barnsley making mention of the memes saying it was actually against Barcelona. I then suggest we need to stay grounded and the importance of getting a third win in the week and building a run of momentum. I point out some of the good palace players and the conundrum Ten Hag is going to face in picking his Manchester United starting 11 especially in midfield and the forward line due to the good form of players in there. I suggest Erikson drops to the bench as it's hard to see him starting a third game in a week. I look at our man Antony and what he did midweek but can't see anyway that he doesn't not drop out for Amad who has been in great form. I look at other news with Mazaroui saying the best is yet to come. The womens team kick off the WSL against West Ham and Antony Martial signing for a new club with AEK Athens. Lastly I also provide an injury update from Ten Hag's press conference saying that Mount and Hojlund could be involved this weekend. Top 2 standout performers Top 2 concerns Lots of people wildcarded but scores across the board were low why was this? Mateta and Eze sharing penalties this ultimately cost Alan valuable points. The return of European football and fears about rotation especially around Liverpool assests. I review the Southampton performance away from home and thankful that my prediction was not correct. I cover the positives and negatives of the performance and the sliding doors moment. I look at our provided squad list to the premier league and how the squad still appears to be bloated. Man Utd to draw 1 all with Southampton away from home. United's horrible away form analysed. Predicted line up and news from Erik Ten Hag on injuries and Ugarte. Antony the worst of the lot the only really successful one has been Martinez and even he has been injured too much. The jury is out on the tactics and how we play will it work in the Premier league. How boring is international football it just feels dead without the Premier league! I go through the international reds on duty.
