It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of Heaven.

This is my Homecoming Mass Homily linking marriage and the University of Louisiana, and how both are built upon vows.

For many of us, our perfect utopia, also known as a paradise, is a world where love is free. But I would challenge that notion. I don't think that would be a Utopia at all. I think it would be a nightmare. A true utopia is a place where our actions actually have consequences and our vows actually mean something.

In the wake of all of these scandals, the key to peace lies in remembering the simple gifts God gave us: Food, water, shelter, clothing, etc. No one is more aware of these simple gifts than a child.

This is a hard question to answer this day and age, but the Church, the Scriptures, and nature give us a glimpse of the answer.

Jesus heals people in the gospels for two reasons: 1) to show us that he is the messiah, and 2) to allow us to see the world sacramentally.

After reading the Bishop's letter, I wanted to share a crucial moment in my journey toward the priesthood, which was centered around today's gospel, and how it applies to the scandals plaguing our Church.
