VICTORY and OVERCOMING! Today we enjoy Being SEATED in CHRIST and all that belongs to us. We demonstrate HOW faith operates, and talk about a few different keys to victory: We are all seated in Christ, we confess the Word of victory BECAUSE it is true, not to 'make it true.We are obligated (and empowered) as God's people to RESIST failure and defeat, and/or not quit until we get it. Moses was not allowed to quit after plague 6 because he had his personal fill of the supernatural. He couldn't quit after His family came out of the Red Sea, He had to continue to work with God until every person of God was through. And he still couldn't quit, because he had to stand his ground to allow the Lord to destroy his enemy and he had to be there as a witness to watch. When we turn our lives over to the Lord, we are not allowed to quit, and we are always empowered to pursue His victory for our lives. The Word tells us the truth, not the culture around us. God's best is His Word, not the examples we have had to this point. The gospel is a WHOSOEVER gospel. So WHOSOEVER should be part of our churches.There are no two churches the same, by design. People are vast and varied and so there needs to be many types of churches for many types of people. God's LOVE drives out the fear of rejection from people. 2 Tim 1:7 We are not to be intimidated by people, even if they have more money than us, higher positions or rank in some area of life. It is important to know 'your filter' you have. It is not a matter of 'right and wrong' in churches as much as it is perspective. I was raised with a revelation of education, sports and leadership from the book of Daniel, so education and critical thinking, thinking for myself, asking questions and weighing the different parts of the Word all are things I enjoy doing and am gifted at doing. I have a church background of being one of the core families in the church I grew up in, so that also is my perspective of what it looks like to be 'part of' a local church. And with a mom with a counseling mindset and degree, the thinking process was always around mental health, people's free agency and unique paths: no two are the same, and understanding where people are coming from, or their knuckleheaded behavior. Sometimes, instead of being so critical of other ministers, churches or 'the way people do things' it is more helpful to look at WHY they are doing it that way, and perhaps what their blindspots are. All ministers and churches are in (or should be in ) a state of continued LEARNING, growing and maturing. One area MOST pastors need to grow in, is trauma informed pastoring. Highly authoritative/controlling environments are very detrimental to people growing and especially people dealing with trauma. Highly emotionally charged services, chaotic services, can be disturbing. And telling people to 'use faith' and not offer pastoral counseling or support can also unintentionally send the wrong message to people that Jesus wants to help. We are excited as we finish our 2 years studying at Oral Roberts University, excited to have some new doors open that tie in with our counseling background, as well as continue to bring some of the growth we have had into our books and classes. No matter what your life looks like TODAY, God loves YOU. He has a plan and a purpose for you. He has made the power of His Spirit available to you.
