Frank Duffy - Mobility, Movement and why One Person's bad form is another Person's resiliency Training

Listen Later

On this week's podcast I'm joined by U.S-based Coach Frank Duffy to discuss his approach to Mobility Training. Frank is a Strength & Conditioning Coach at Cressey Sport Performance, Co-Founder of Par Four Performance, a FRC and Kinstretch Coach and is someone who puts out a tonne of free mobility content through his Instagram.
In this episode Frank discusses:
- Why he is such a big advocate for FRC and Kinstretch Training, what both are and how their approach is different to the typical static or dynamic stretches.
- His key principles when it comes to mobility and movement training
- The common issues he typically sees with Gen' Pop' clients and his key areas of focus to address when working with clients.
- Where people should start with mobility training, how he builds mobility work into a client's Training program and why performing some mobility work outside of sessions can be key to maximising results.
- His incredible work over the past 14 months with a client who has Multiple Sclerosis. Frank explains the focus and approach he takes with her, the challenges they've faced over the past year and how the experience of training her has changed how he views movement.
To finish Frank also provides some tips on how those with Hyper-mobility, or laxity as Frank prefers to call it, can utilise some of the FRC approaches to help manage their condition better.
