Frank and Mahmud explore Shangri-La.  Chuck and Nate explore the intersection of technology, sovereignty, and moral philosophy.

Chapters 16-17: Frank tells a dirty joke.  He and Mahmud get lost in the mountains.  Nate and Chuck nerd out about archeology, Voltaire, Vonnegut, economics, and visions of utopia.

Chapters 13-16: Complications arise for poor ol' Frank.  Nate and Chuck somehow manage to discuss gender politics, history, geography, ethno-demographics, military sub-culture, and moral relativism, without inducing boredom.  Mostly.

Chapters 11-12: Things get cringe.  Nate and Chuck philosophize about it.

Chapters 6-10: Trouble ensues, compounding upon the trouble which had already ensued.  Nate gets all philosophical or whatever, to which Chuck faithfully adds his blah-blah-blahs.  

Chapters 4-5: Things get better for Les.  Frank receives a crash-course in the indignities of air travel.  They pass a typical night in Houston.  Nate goads Chuck into ever more self-indulgent grand-standing.
