Joined by poet James Fujinami Moore, we examine the bi-coded themes in Mary Shelley's titan work of gothic horror, "Frankenstein," including the many film adaptations it's spawned, including James Whale's seminal Frankenstein (1931) and its sequel Bride of Frankenstein (1935), along with Guillermo del Toro's recent 2025 adaptation. We dive into Jacob Elordi's performance as Frankenstein's monster, Victor Frankenstein's mommy and daddy issues, and of course, those queer literary bacchanals in Lake Geneva.
