Isaiah 4:2-3    That day, the branch of the Lord shall be beauty and glory, and the fruit of the earth shall be the pride and adornment of Israel’s survivors. Those who are left of Zion and remain of Jerusalem shall be called holy and those left in Jerusalem noted down for survival.

The angel said to the shepherds: ‘I bring you news of great joy: today the Saviour of the world has been born to you. Alleluia.’

Bless the Lord, all his works,

Por ellas nos ha hecho merced de las preciosas y magníficas promesas, para que así seáis partícipes de la naturaleza divina, escapando de la corrupción existente en el mundo por causa de la concupiscencia.

O God, you are my God, I watch for you from the dawn.

My soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you.

I came to your sanctuary,

as one in a parched and waterless land,

so that I could see your might and your glory.

My lips will praise you, for your mercy is better than life itself.

Thus I will bless you throughout my life,

and raise my hands in prayer to your name;

my soul will be filled as if by rich food,

and my mouth will sing your praises and rejoice.

I will remember you as I lie in bed,

I will think of you in the morning,

for you have been my helper,

and I will take joy in the protection of your wings.

1Jn 1, 1-3   Lo que existía desde un principio, lo que hemos oído, lo que hemos visto con nuestros ojos, lo que contemplamos y lo que tocaron nuestras manos acerca de la Palabra de vida (porque la vida se ha manifestado, y nosotros hemos visto y testificamos y os anunciamos esta vida eterna, la que estaba con el Padre y se nos ha manifestado): lo que hemos visto y oído os lo anunciamos, a fin de que viváis en comunión con nosotros. Y esta nuestra comunión de vida es con el Padre y con su Hijo Jesucristo.

Jeremiah 31:15    A voice is heard in Ramah, lamenting and weeping bitterly: it is Rachel weeping for her children, refusing to be comforted for her children, because they are no more.

On the lips of children and of babes you have found praise to foil your enemy.

Sing a new song to the Lord,

his praise in the assembly of the faithful.

Let Israel rejoice in its maker,

and the sons of Zion delight in their king.

Let them praise his name with dancing,

sing to him with timbrel and lyre,

for the Lord’s favor is upon his people,

and he will honor the humble with victory.

Let the faithful celebrate his glory,

rejoice even in their beds,

the praise of God in their throats;

and swords ready in their hands,

to exact vengeance upon the nations,

impose punishment on the peoples,

to bind their kings in fetters

and their nobles in manacles of iron,

to carry out the sentence that has been passed:

Lunes, Diciembre 27 - 2021 Visperas Liturgia de Las Horas Fiesta de San Juan, Apóstol y Evangelista

Rm 8, 3b-4   Dios envió a su propio Hijo, sometido a una existencia semejante a la de la carne de pecado. Así dictó sentencia de condenación contra el pecado, que ejercía su poder en la vida según la carne. De este modo la exigencia y el fin de la ley tuvieron cumplimiento en nosotros, que no vivimos la vida puramente natural según la carne, sino la vida sobrenatural según el espíritu.

Monday Lauds Morning Prayer Feast Saint John, Apostle, Evangelist

Acts 4:19-20    Peter and John answered them, ‘You must judge whether in God’s eyes it is right to listen to you and not to God. We cannot promise to stop proclaiming what we have seen and heard.’

John, the apostle, and evangelist, was chosen by the Lord because of his virginal purity. He was the disciple whom the Lord especially loved.
