We dive into the story of Peter’s imprisonment and his miraculous escape, despite the fact that he was under maximum security. To use the words of Everett Harrison: “The circumstances surrounding Peter’s imprisonment are sketched in simple but dramatic fashion – the power of an earthly monarch pitted against the power of prayer to the Almighty.”

Peter goes to the house of Cornelius - Acts 10.

Life doesn't always work out the way we think it should or could. But when we encounter the risen Jesus our lives will often take us in a different direction to what we expect. I know that mine did. And what is amazing is that if we walk with Jesus as our constant companion he will always work things "For the Good'.

This week we are starting our 'Renew Together' series. The New Zealand Baptist Missions Society is now called 'Arotahi' (together focusing in one direction) and each year we spend some time focusing on Global mission. This year we will look at the great commission (Matthew 28:16-20) and seeing what God is doing through our Baptist Mission people throughout the world. We also have some of our own people sharing their stories of how God has used them in their place of mission overseas. At the end of our short series, we will be taking up a special offering that will go towards the work that our Baptist churches have been involved in for over 120 years.
