Paul's letter to Philemon is only 25 verses long. It's one of the shortest books in the Bible, and yet so full of insight that may be easy to overlook. In Week 4 of this message series, Pastor Jon Sterns digs in to some difficult aspects of relationship. At different points we all can be in a similar situation that Philemon, Onesimus and Paul were facing. Each one had their own issues to work through.

Philemon 11

On Sunday, September 18th, Michael Sterns preached on Paul's use of authority in Philemon. Instead of throwing around his apostolic title, Paul appeals to Philemon on the basis of love. He cared about both of them as a father would, and he came down into their situation to settle the dispute. He used his authority with grace because he understood the incredible grace of God.

The promise of Colossians 1:15-23 is so true and we need to focus on this  "For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authrorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together."
