DANCING WITH MARIA is one of the films selected for Venice International Critics week. The documentary centres on Maria Fux, an elderly Argentinian dancer. In her studio in the centre of Buenos Aires, she welcomes dancers from all walks of life, including women and men with physical and mental impairments, and arranges integrated dance groups.

We find out about the process of lovingly restoring this wonderful 1929 film starring Douglas Fairbanks.

FRED’s Matt Micucci meets one of the leading European casting director – Beatrice Kruger. Beatrice has been involved in a great number of international productions – including Woody Allen’s TO ROME WITH LOVE and Fatih Akin’s THE CUT, the latter film presented in the main competition of the 71st Venice Film Festival.

Beatrice also talks to us about the role of a casting director, how she started her work in this particular field and whether or not this particular role gets the aknowledgement it deserves especially in comparison with other sectors in the film industry.
