At the When East meets West FRED meets Kristina Trapp, representative for EAVE, partner of WEMW since the first edition of the Coproduction market based in Trieste. is a professional training, project development and networking organisation for audiovisual producers.

Founded in 1988, their objectives are to provide professional training opportunities and to bring producers from different regions of the world together with the aim of facilitating co-production relationships. As a partner of WEMW, EAVE choose together with the board of the market the FOCUS country every year. Besides The WEMW international jury, including Nikolaj Nikitin (FILMPLUS), Matthieu Darras (TORINO FILM LAB), and Kristina Trapp (EAVE), will award the WEMW Development Award  to the best project, as well as a study grant for the participation in the next edition of the EAVE EUROPEAN PRODUCERS WORKSHOP.

In a form of a radio pitch interview Fred’s Chiara Nicoletti interviews Directo Bojana Papp and Producer Judit Stalter who are at When East meets West to pitch their project PARTISAN & COURTESAN to potential coproducers, world sales agents and tv broadcasters. This hungarian documentary is based on the life of Eva Kardos, the niece of the infamous Hungarian communist dictator. This is a film about Eva’s lives and experiences linked together by one constant element: Optimism.

The main aim of the market is to bring together every year financiers, decision makers and film professionals coming from Eastern European countries, Italy and another selected Western European region (a different one every year).
