Jason Hornberger is a husband, father, and real-life superhero! When he's not on the board of your favorite community organization, such as the Reading Science Center, he's literally giving a titan of our community a second, and even third chance at life.
Jason donated not only part of his liver, but he also donated his kidney to a family friend, Dick Henry. It's all right here in this week's episode.
I've known Dr. Sarah for over five years now, but in this episode, I learned she was a world traveler, helped organizations in Africa, Europe, as well as the United States, and she loves risky moves in business! It's all right here in this week's episode.
This week I wanted to speak with you about the Awesome Toy Drive and its inception back in 2019. The initial idea was to help one local organization as a "Thank You" to Berks County and the universe for giving me so much in a small span of time. November is the month for giving and I wanted to give back and I hope you will as well.
Liz and I have been friends and colleagues for a few years now, but it was definitely awesome to sit down and have a conversation about her community efforts here in Berks County. Not only does she own and operate the famed EB Designs, but she also heads Berks Women In Motion and has recently joined the ranks of the Children's Home of Reading. Where does she find the time? Well, it's all right here in this week's episode.
Marc started his non-profit in December of 2011 after being inspired by a customer purchasing blankets as a holiday gift. Fast forward 10 years and Blankets of Hope has donated over 64,000 blankets to those in need in Berks County and beyond. But the giving doesn't stop there. Marc and his partners are now providing beds to those who need it most, with over 400 being donated as of this podcast. This awesome story is all right here in this week's episode.
Dallan and I met a little over a month ago and discussed our love of podcasting and content creation. Fast forward to this afternoon and our discussion includes The Beatles, Reading Royals, social media, and Tom Brady.
This week's guest is Samantha Kaag, West Reading Mayoral Candidate and Borough Councilwoman. I wanted to bring Samantha on the podcast to show you just how transparent she is. It truly is impressive to speak with a political candidate that is so open and readily available to the public. If you follow her socials, you'll definitely see what I mean. You will also realize that community is not just a word she throws around for votes.
Amanda Alger is the owner of Dressed In Love Bridal Suite in West Reading, PA. We sat down and spoke about the importance of giving your client not only a great product but an amazing experience. Social media presence, client expectations, in-house scents, yes, even the smell of your brick and mortar is part of your brand. If anyone knows branding, it's Amanda.
Being a symbol for over a century, the Reading Pagoda is a historic landmark that needs our help. Joey Miranda and his fellow foundation board members are here to educate the local community, as well as fans far and wide, about the Reading Pagoda and how we can all come together and help her rise above and beyond her past glory.
I can try and come up with a description fitting this real-life miracle, but I won't. What I will say is you are listening to a man who actually died and was brought back to life - no shit!
