Attack on Titan has been one of my all-time favorite Anime shows since I first watched it debut more than 10 years ago. It was the first show I watched that truly shocked me, terrified me, and moved me on multiple levels as a human being... from the monstrous images of those human-eating beasts called ‘Titans,’ to the skillful and brilliant storytelling of the writer himself, it was amazing. Whenever a new season would air, I looked forward to spending those Saturday or Sunday nights bonding with my siblings as we ate snacks and watched another horrific, world-shattering episode. Then, later that night, I would lay alone in bed reflecting on the complexity of human nature and what the themes of that story told me about the real world, from a political and psychological perspective. My favorite song from the soundtrack of this series is called "Call of Silence," and I used to listen to it ALL the time. I don't know man... from the raw emotion and beauty of the lyrics, to the perfection of the instrumentation and the grace of the singer... it all just culminated into a stunning work of art that spoke to me deeply, independent of the show itself. The fact that years later I have the opportunity to rap on a beat sampling my favorite song from one of my favorite shows is really an honor and it was genuinely just a lot of fun making this. My general philosophy toward work of any kind (creative or otherwise) is to take on an attitude of play, non-seriousness, and acceptance. The drill sound is one of those arenas I'm currently enjoying playing in, so shout out to the producer @KosfingerBeats for bodying this beat, for real. You don’t even know how much I appreciate the fact that you made this, man. Also, shout out to my brother who you can follow on Instagram @The_Haitian_Photographer for shooting this for me. All that aside, I hope you guys can enjoy this little freestyle I wrote, and if you feel so moved, hit all the fun buttons! LIKE, COMMENT, SHARE, SUBSCRIBE! GLLT!
