  • The Good, the Bad, and the Beautiful Truth – (3 John 1-12) Part Two
This show offers a personal exploration of truth and love, and what this looks like in a world filled with error and hatred.  It is so very unfortunate that this short epistle is one of the most neglected books of the New Testament.  It is such an intimate view of the early church that is a veritable treasure to the church today… telling us what the Bible says about who Christians are in Christ.

  • The Good, the Bad, and the Beautiful Truth – (3 John 1-12) Part One
In this show we read a letter together.  It is a letter of competing testimonies.  It is a letter of challenge (but mostly of encouragement).  It is a letter in which the author does not use his name, nor even the name of Christ.  And yet it is a letter in which names play a central role, especially as they relate to The Name.  The topic this week focuses on Third John 1-12 and is titled “The Good, the Bad, and the Beautiful Truth”.

  • The Epistles of John – (3 John 13-15) PART TWO
This show brings to a close our extended look at “The Shack” book/movie.  (All together we have done three series on “The Shack”, totaling nine shows.)  Are you equipped to talk with others who might ask you questions about the issues it raises?  Do you even know what you believe, what you should believe, about these things?  The Apostle John would hope for you to know what you believe and why.  John would want Christians to understand the truth and be witness to the truth.  This is the endeavor we continue to undertake once more.

  • The Epistles of John – (3 John 13-15) PART ONE
This two-part mini- series puts a wrap on our extended look at “The Shack” as a case study.  What do many people in and around the church believe about the nature of God?  How well does this match up with biblical teaching?  What are the implications of these beliefs, both good and bad?  The book continues to be popular.  The movie is out on DVD and is likely to be a big gift item once again this year.  Do you know what “The Shack” teaches?

  • “Shackin’ Up” (Part Three)
On March 11th and April 15th the first two parts of a three part series were featured on the show.  The series takes an expanded look at the book (and movie) The Shack, using the Third Epistle of John (verses 13 to the end) as a “jumping off point”.  Are The Shack’s theological claims biblical?  This is the third (and final) part of a series that pulls audio from a sermon preached in 2017.  “The Shack” has both fans and detractors.  Some of what The Shack teaches is good, some is bad, and some is ugly.  The “good” and the “bad” were highlighted in parts one and two, So, by default, Part Three mostly focuses on “the ugly”.

  • “Shackin’ Up” (Part Two)
One month ago the first part of a three part series was presented on the program.  It was the first portion of a sermon loosely based upon the Third Epistle of John (verses 13 to the end), but really was more of an extended look at the theological claims made by the author of the book (and then movie) “The Shack”.  This is the second of a three part series that pulls audio from a sermon preached in 2017.  “The Shack” has stirred up plenty of controversy because it contains some things that are good, some things that are bad, and some things that are ugly.  Part Two mostly focuses on “the bad”.

  • Is Death the Cessation of Life?
What does the Bible say about a person’s condition in death?  Is it important that Christians understand biblical teaching about this?  For that matter, does the Bible have anything to say about this subject?  What, if anything, does the Bible teach about the soul and the state of humans in death?  Does it tell us where we go after death?  How do we define “immortal”?  Is Jesus, in His humanity, alive right now?  When Christians are wrestling though questions like the ones we’ve been tackling (for this our fourth week now), what are some of the key passages of Scripture upon which we should meditate?
    The panel:
Troy Skinner.  930 WFMD Host/Moderator of The Faith Debate.
Jonathan Switzer.  Past-President of Frederick’s Evangelical Ministerial Fellowship, Founder of “Frederick 48”, former candidate for School Board in Frederick County, Founder of Crossroads Valley Church, and Co-Founder of The Faith Debate.
Morgan Kochenower.  Lead Pastor of Frederick Seventh-day Adventist Church and former missionary.
