Does it even matter if we have an awareness of God as we go through our day? Does life change if we are practicing the presence of God? In today's episode with Christian life coach Liz Montigny we talk about why it's worth it to build your awareness of God's presence in your life, even if it seems like you're doing just fine without moment to moment reliance on Him. Does your image of God need a makeover?

So often we go through life and faith with an unexamined image of God, pieced together from people, events, and stories we have experienced throughout our life, which may or may not reflect who God actually is. I love to ask atheists to describe the God they don't believe in and 9 times out of 10 I'm right there with them - the image of God they describe is nothing like the God I know to be our loving Provider.

These faulty images of God can hold us back from ever going deeper in the life of faith - when we have a twisted, tainted view of someone it typically doesn't make us want to get to know them better right? Our untrue images of God keep us from pursuing and receiving more authentic relationship with Him and the first step of healing them is getting aware of what they are.

Start investigating your own image of God with Jill on today's episode of the Authentic Uprising podcast.

Even though our last episode aired just 7 days ago, it's been over 8 months since I actually recorded a podcast! I prepped all of 2022 by the end of April to prepare for maternity leave, and boy did God do some things in that time. From almost dying giving birth to discovering the Holy Spirit's provision in a lost voice and unplanned talk, it's been a wild ride. Hear about what's been going on for me and what we going to be doing together this year in the inaugural episode of season four.

Here at the beginning of the intense December holiday season, we are going to take a month to sit in the quiet and talk about how God really does WANT to speak to you.

Regardless of what you've experienced in your prayer life to this point, whether you know the voice of God or not, the truth remains that God does want to speak to you. In this episode Jill goes into the Biblical foundations of this truth and how we can start acting on this, even when we're still not hearing from God regularly.

If you want to go deeper on this topic of hearing God's voice, we encourage you to take our workshop on Hearing God Speak: https://uprisingacademy.thinkific.com/courses/god-speaks-workshop The workshop will provide you with the concrete understanding and resources necessary to start hearing from God when you pray.

In today's episode Jill breaks open our topic of the month - the fact that God is imminently powerful, even if He doesn't wield that power in the world in the way we wish He would. She shares about our verse for the month, why we need to keep our eyes fixed on the power of God, and how to keep God's permissive will in focus, especially when we wish God would use His power to change things in a more miraculous or explosive way.
