This study seeks to explain the reason behind Paul's command that an elder must be a man.----1- God's instructions are not random--2- God's design is suited for God's purpose--3- God's purpose for men - woman--4- God's different design of men - woman

1- They are not a take it or leave it list--2- They are not a standard of perfection--3- They are not describing a woman--Note - It was felt that point 3 needed greater biblical explanation, and so there is a separate sermon in the series, rooting the point in God's created design.

1- They are not describing a certain personality--2- They are not describing qualities exclusive to elders--3- They are not describing qualities that have always been there.
