The Brisbane Lions were agonising close to another premiership in season 7. However, season 8 boasts a formidable challenge, with the loss of Emily Bates, Greta Bodey and Jesse Wardlaw. Thankfully the Lions recruiting was on the money, managing to sign two former Gold Coast Suns in Ellie Hampson and Jade Pregelj as more than capable replacements.
