Free Lunch (Seasoned Green Oak #12)

Listen Later

“Let me buy your lunch.”  Whether we are on the giving or receiving end of the request, buying lunch for someone is a win/win.  Both parties feel good about it.  Unfortunately, a free school lunch wasn’t a positive experience for Kevin because his pink ticket marked him as a child of poverty and set him apart from his peers.    Bar codes and computerized programs may have eliminated the “pink lunch ticket” in schools, but the social divide still exists.  Join Kevin as he explains why it is important to build inclusive cultures and provide adults on staff who can help children living in poverty feel good about themselves and their school experience.
