In today's episode Ben & I review The Dead Seas, episode eight of Captain Planet and the Planeteers. I'm not sure if this has been clear this far into this run but I'm a bit of a softy when it comes to the oceans. I'm also unable to let people bullshit others about the issues pertaining to them. This is compounded when the issue centers around poor economics which has a surprisingly high correlation in this series. So join us once again as we watch ocean faring pig-man Hoggish Greedly set sail once again to antagonize the Planeteers.

In today's episode Ben & I discuss PPE post-covid Studies finally turning up in web searches. For months ive searched for data on the topic and clearly articles were out but for some reason they weren't making it into my searches. Now that we see them they show us exactly how dire the medical waste situation truly is. Very dire indeed. Not surprisingly the answer is never freedom in these situations. We instead get platitudes and insistence that we need to curtail basic human life even further. It all too often seems as though the anti-human wing of environmentalism is all there is. This is untrue and we refuse to let lunacy run rampant and destroy what it means to be human, what it means to be alive.

In today's episode Ben & I review Last Of Her Kind, episode 7 of season one of Captain Planet & The Planeteers. The episode pits the team against evil poacher Looten Plunder who is killing off elephants in Africa for their Ivory. Ben and I use the episode as a springboard to discuss why poaching is so lucrative and why efforts to solve it generally exacerbate the issue. Dig into yet another piece of this propaganda machine with us.

In today's episode Nicky P and Ben discuss some old tweets they came across from our long time foil, Dr. Sarah Taber, enlightening people on the truth about ugly produce. If you've been anywhere on the internet the past few years you've undoubtedly been inundated with advertisements for different company's offering to help save the ugly produce from ruin. While we don't always see eye to eye with Taber she's a wealth of knowledge on this topic and actually made us better capitalists going through her explanations.

In today's episode Ben & I discuss an article he found questioning the ability of “organic farming” to meet the needs of growing global populations. The article seemed like a thinly guised propaganda piece dedicated to GMO apologetics to me, but I’d be remiss in saying there was little value in questioning my own suppositions. The conversation gets a little messy but we make some prescriptions we personally think make more sense than throwing all our chickens into one basket. We need to remember technology isn’t a cure-all but tradition can be misguided as well.
In today's episode Ben & I review The Conqueror, episode six of Captain Planet and the Planeteers. I’m not sure that either of us could really place a message for the episode. The nearest we could come up with was “people suck.” This is a very on brand sentiment for the people who tend to populate the circles actually talking about the environment, but it seems disingenuous to believe that human progress and technology are the worst we have to offer. As per always we treat the show with as much irreverence as a brainwashing tool from your childhood deserves. Enjoy!

This week on Free Markets, Green Earth, Nicky P and The Liberty Hippie have a discussion about the goals of the show. Our main tenet is that free markets, private property and innovation are the best case for protecting the environment. Leaving protection to the government is one one of the worst ways to safeguard mother nature. We also reiterate the need for your help to grow the show. All with the irreverence you've come to expect. Lets teach the world how to really save the earth.
In today's episode Ben & I talk about Deadly Ransom, episode five of Captain Planet and the Planeteers. The episode centers around a plot by villains Duke Nukem & Dr Blight to take Captain Planet hostage in an effort to coerce the Planeteers to bring them nuclear waste. The initial hostage taking goes off without a hitch but the Planeteers ultimately foil the plot. How much of what the show teaches about nuclear energy and waste is nonsense? Tune in and find out.

This week on Free Markets, Green Earth, Nicky P and The Liberty Hippie are joined by Elizabeth Melton a long time liberty lover from Georgia. Elizabeth was nominated by the Georgia LP to run for Public Service Commissioner in the 2020 election. What is a PSC? What do they do? All we knew going into the interview was it had something to do with utilities. You know, those government imposed monopolies we are all forced to take part in. Utilities are one of the few places it's hard to even opt out thanks to zoning regulations. Is Elizabeth going to be able to help a public already reeling from the coove? What are her feelings on the EPA? Find out both with a listen.
